Friends,
Just a quick reminder that all Village Thrift remixes are due back to us tomorrow for inclusion on the next Village Thrift release. Should you not be able to ship the physical CD to us to make tomorrow’s deadline, please send me an email to let me know that you would like to participate in any future collaborations. If you have an MP3 of any progress you’ve made and will not make the Aug. 1st deadline, please send it directly to me at Toddberg@gmail.com

re:MIXERS for Village Thrift Circa 08 (due this Friday!)

This Friday (August 1st) is the cutoff for this final phase of Village Thrfit Circa 2008 entries. We will have more contests in the future, but if you’d like to be included as one of the original pioneers and get promoted as such, we need your entries immediately. Drive it to Colorado, overnight it, send it by carrier pigeon… this is your chance to be a part of the next Village Thrift… now is your time to shine.

Remix Submissions Deadline

Final submissions must follow these guidelines:
a. In the specified time signature, tempo, and key, in 24/48 AIF files
b. In a multi-track file/project. The Village is optimized for Logic 8, but files may also be submitted in OMF format with all effects, automation, etc. bounced to complete audio files that have “flattened” the automation, effects, etc.
c. Multi-track submissions must be accompanied by an MP3 burn of the mix at 128K.
d. Submission should be presented on CD-R to Village Thrift, 743 Gold Hill Place, Woodland Park, CO 80866 with a signed copy of this page.
d. All submissions are due by August 1, 2008, and become the property of the Village on receipt.

The time is now to get involved ReMixing an Enter The Worship Circle venture with us that we call the Village Thrift! All remixers, dj’s, hobbyists, rearrangers, mashup artists welcome!

The original Village Thrift: Circa 2005 was released as a collaborative effort between Todd Berger, Ryan Lott, Ben Pasley and others and, we think, is an incredible work. Our latest project simply titled “Village Thrift” is not a traditional album at all…it is a creative space between all of us. Village Thrift: Phase 2

NOW BEGINS…Phase 2

From blunt instruments to multi track recorders, survival of the fittest musical arrengements… natural selection of the right hook.

Every week for the next 10 weeks, we are releasing 2 Village Thrift songs as FREE downloads in the worship circle store. These songs are all in the early formative stages called 8 packs – the basic building blocks (LOOPS) of Village Thrifts songs containing some instrumentation, final vocals, and some rhythm and ambience. What they need to evolve to their possible inclusion on the next Village Thrift recording is your collaboration! Calling all DJ’s, Remixers, Mashers, and Musicians to add your personal spin to these songs. Go get the goods and start cranking out your own version of these previously unreleased Village Thrift worship songs.Then resubmit* your versions back to us. Those songs that make the cut will be included in the next release of Village Thrift: Circa 2008. now GO!
