Some friends and myself are in the development stages of the next Village Thrift (Enter the Worship Circle’s experimental electronica series). My passion for the Village Thrift recordings is to bring people together through a cultural fusion of electronica, turntablism, and hip hop methodologies (ie. Beck, Matt Kearney, Gnarls Barkley) to create both worship environments as well as unite people who might culturally never break out of their musical preference to see their part in the bigger picture of being in the family of God.

Wow, what a mouthful… anyway, this time around, Ben & Robin Pasley and I have written a bunch of songs based on the Psalms, that we are releasing in a special multi-track form for DJ’s, remixers, and other artists to re-create. These collaborative remixes will be called back in Aug. 1st, 2008 and will be picked through for a final Village Thrift release entitled Circa 2008. You may know of a few people who might enjoy putting their own spin on this music, so I’d appreciate it if you’d spread the word of this opportunity. In the long run, I hope to re-engage these participants to do collaborative concerts and gatherings when we tour this project. Can you help me get the word out and if you know of anyone who might be interested in remixing, would you mind sending them along to: www.villagethrift.com?

P.S. Every week for the next 10 weeks, we are releasing 2 Village Thrift songs as FREE downloads in the worship circle store. These songs are all in the early formative stages called 8 packs — the basic building blocks (LOOPS) of Village Thrifts songs containing some instrumentation, final vocals, and some rhythm and ambiance. What they need to evolve to their possible inclusion on the next Village Thrift recording is your collaboration! Calling all DJ’s, Remixers, Mashers, and Musicians to add your personal spin to these songs. Go get the goods and start cranking out your own version of these previously unreleased Village Thrift worship songs. Then resubmit your versions back to us by AUGUST 1st, 2008. Those songs that make the cut will be included in the next release of Village Thrift: Circa 2008. now GO!
