Remix/Arranger Contract

Village Thrift: Circa 2008
Agreement

By downloading this document and the Village Thrift 8-Packs+Vox, Worship Circle Records requires you, the Artist, to be in full agreement with all of the following (where Worship Circle Records is represented by “Village” and you, the creative participant as the “Artist”):

1. The contents of the Village Thrift 8-Pack+Vocals ZIP file are the property of the Village and the Artist is permitted to use the contents under a Creative Commons License to create new arrangements of the songs solely for consideration in the new album Village Thrift: Circa 2008. See this link for info: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/sampling+/1.0/
a. The Artist may use any of the materials in the 8-Pack+Vox to build a song.
b. The Artist must use all of the lyric content from the 8-Pack+Vox whether in a new vocal track or in the track provided.
c. The Artist may remix, add, subtract, morph, build, and completely revise every freaking part of the song as long as time, tempo, key, and lyric content are intact…anything goes. We restrict these values so we can easily fuse your creative work with the work of others to the final album version.
d. The Artist may submit a song version which does not comply with item 1. c. but this submission will be considered on individual merit for public posting, but may not be used in the final collaboration.
e. Artist may add new lyric under the condition that all intellectual rights to that new lyric is given, 100%, to the Village.

2. The Village will review and decide to use the Artist’s submission in whole, or in part, or not, at its discretion. Village will only use these materials on projects branded under Village Thrift: Circa 2008, and when used the submissions become the property of the Village. Village does not return any submissions. Village Thrift may combine the Artist’s work with the work of other Artists and present that as the final album cut.

3. The Village will give professional credits and love to the Artist in the following ways:
a. All Artists, with approved submissions, will receive a credit on a “contributor’s page” at entertheworshipcircle.com that will include their name, website, and a short sentence describing their world (a bio line submitted by Artist), regardless of whether that submission is used in any public way.
b. All Artists whose arrangement, in whole or in part, is used in a final Village product, whether in digital or physical form, will receive a Village Thrift Artist credit on a unique professional credits page at entertheworshipcircle.com and in any physical product where their work is contained. This credit includes their name, their website, a short sentence describing their world (a bio line submitted by Artist), a note on the portion of the final song they contributed. The entertheworshipcircle.com store will feature the Artist’s original submission MP3 for free download for at least one year…bonus!

4. No Artist, no matter the nature of their submission, will receive any
intellectual property rights to any of the Village songs, and will not receive financial compensation of any kind. This is for fun, for credits, and for partnership together to make something that only a big tribe could create, enjoy!

5. The Village gives every participating Artist permission and encouragement to post any of their arrangements in public places including but not limited to YouTube, mySpace, websites, blogs, etc. but these public “progress” posts must contain credits listed for “song author”, a mention of the “Village Thrift: Circa 2008” remix project, and a link to “entertheworshipcircle.com” in accordance with our Creative Commons License (see item 1).

6. All Artists must post the enclosed banner code to their website to proudly display their participation in the project and help turn others on to it:

Here is what the image looks like:

7. Final submissions must follow these guidelines:
a. In the specified time signature, tempo, and key, in 24/48 AIF files
b. In a multi-track file/project. The Village is optimized for Logic 8, but files may also be submitted in OMF format with all effects, automation, etc. bounced to complete audio files that have “flattened” the automation, effects, etc.
c. Multi-track submissions must be accompanied by an MP3 burn of the mix at 128K.
d. Submission should be presented on CD-R to Village Thrift, 743 Gold Hill Place, Woodland Park, CO 80866 with a signed copy of this page.
d. All submissions are due by August 1, 2008, and become the property of the Village on receipt.

The Village loves you. The Village can’t give you tech support. The Village looks forward to printing an album with your fingerprint on it, and believes that without you it will not be cool. The Village has a thankful heart.
